History & Winemaking
At Tamarack Cellars, it’s all about the wine. Founded in a World War II era firehouse in 1998 by Ron and Jamie Coleman, Tamarack’s first vintage consisted of 300 cases of Merlot.
More than two decades later, Tamarack continues to excel in consistently crafting award-winning, varietally correct wines barrel by barrel, sourced from some of the most renowned vineyards in Washington state.

Danny Gordon | Maker of the Wine
Danny grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Banks, Oregon, on an 8-acre farm about 20 miles west of Portland and just a mile down the road from Tualatin Estate Vineyards.
Danny graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Agriculture. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Eastern Oregon for work and the drier weather. In 1999, he began work for Ron Coleman, the Founding Owner and original Winemaker of Tamarack Cellars.
Over the years, Danny took over the winemaking duties, but as there could only be one Winemaker, Danny took on the title of “Maker of the Wine,” which he still goes by today.
