The Tamarack Cellars Grenache has tart, bright, and inviting red fruit on the nose with nicely integrated notes of cherry and raspberry, followed by dusty notes of cloves and orange zest. On the palate, you’ll find flavors of cranberry and McIntosh apple with dusty tannins and beechwood notes with cinnamon spice on the finish.
Winemaker Notes
Crushed gently and dropped by gravity into 1.5 ton bins, cold soaked 48-72 hours, then inoculated with yeast RP15, hand punched for 9-12 days until ready for pressing directly to barrel where the wine finished both primary and secondary fermentations.
Vineyard Notes
Ciel du Cheval Vineyard located in the Red Mountain Appellation was the first vineyard planted on Red Mountain in 1972. Owner Jim Holmes farms the vineyard on this revered site and credits the success of Ciel du Cheval, to “dirt and climate, climate and dirt.”
