The nose begins with notes of bright red fruit, followed by a hint of dark tobacco and fresh leather, before giving way to the traditional purple and blue fruits we find in Petit Verdot, including plum, follow by a subtle herbaceous note. The palate is all classic, dark, purple and blue fruits, including boysenberry, acai, and pomegranate and has a lush mouthfeel and lingering mouthwatering tannins. It finishes with hints of cedar box and toasted oak while being smooth and not overly tannic. Pair with grilled meats well-seasoned with Za’atar-style spices.
Winemaker Notes
Crushed gently and dropped into 1.5 ton bins, cold soaked 48 to 72 hours, then inoculated with a variety of yeasts, hand punched and pressed directly to barrel where the wine finished both primary and secondary fermentations.
